With nationally-ranked musicians Mike "Gooch" Gurciullo (trumpet/vocal) and Ron Cooley (guitar), the fresh sounds of these compositions sizzle while they float on the room-filling rhythms of accomplished percussionist Chris Heaney. With a few treasured jazz standards thrown in for good measure, and occasionally joined by other accomplished Omaha jazz musicians just for the fun of it, Tossup is an experience that's guaranteed to entertain! Jenny North is a singer/songwriter newer to the Omaha scene, but who has been writing, singing, and performing since 2003. Her voice is strikingly smooth and sweet, and her songwriting is complex and watercolor-esqe. She has a knack for getting a lot of deep and moving lyrics in a simple melodic idea. Her acoustic style ranges from folk in it's purest form to some alt. country and rock. It wouldn't be surprising to hear her play a 90's rock cover followed by an old hymn on her mandolin! Her band members include her brother Levi Nelson, former member of the band Perlend, on guitar, and Allen Gilbert, former member of Skypiper, on drums.
